Candylady Short Film Crowdfunding

Hello Bears!

Candylady is a short film written and directed by Cydney Davis, a senior in Film Production 3/4 here at UCA. We are in our crowdfunding process. Please help us bring a UCA film to life by being included in the process! The story is a coming-of-age film set in a black neighborhood in the 90s. The real story is in the subtext, which takes viewers through a heartfelt account of gentrification driven by urbanization.

Food Pantry Finals & Holidays Hours

The Bear Essentials Food Pantry will be open Finals Week from 11 am – 4 pm.  During UCA’s hybrid operations and Winter Break, the Pantry will be closed 12/15/25 – 1/9/26.  Before the Spring Semester begins, the Food Pantry will undergo cleaning and restocking the week of 1/5 – 1/9/26.

We will reopen with Spring Semester hours of Monday thru Thursday 11 am – 5 pm on January 12, 2026.

Good luck on Finals!

RESET: Mind Before Finals — A Chill Event to Refocus and Recharge

Before finals week hits, come to Student Center room 215 to clear your head and get focused. Join us for RESET: Mind Before Finals, a creative and stress-free event designed to help you slow down, refocus, and prepare mentally for the week ahead.

Enjoy free cocoa and chill music while creating your own Reset Journal using old magazines and simple reflection prompts. You’ll also learn the RESET Framework — a practical tool for managing stress and staying focused under pressure.

Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed or just need space to breathe, this is your chance to reset your mind, recharge your energy, and finish the semester strong.

Talk Nerdy to Me: Asian Pop Culture Panel on 11/20 at 6pm

UCA will host the third event in the Talk Nerdy to Me lecture series in partnership with Rogue Roundabout on Thursday, November 20th from 6-8pm at the Rogue Roundabout at 804 Chestnut St. in downtown Conway. Panelists Wenjia Liu (Hendrix faculty), Tim Strikwerda (UCA faculty), Adam Frank (UCA faculty), and Celine Evans-Kennard (UCA alumnus/staff) will share their perspectives on how pop culture from China, Korea, and Japan– from kung fu movies to K-pop– has broken into the global mainstream and what these pop culture phenomena can teach the audience about ourselves.

Women’s Basketball at Home

Women’s Basketball is at home this Friday! 6:30 PM in the Farris Center vs Lyon College. Bring 3 nonperishable items for a discounted general admission tickets! All proceeds go to benefit the Bear Essentials Food Pantry. Students can get one free ticket by clicking the link! There will be a meet and greet post game for fans to get signed team photos!

Cap and Gown Photos for December Graduates

University Marketing and Communications is hosting cap and gown photo sessions for December 2025 Graduates on Tuesday, November 18.
All attendees are required to register using the provided link.

AM Sessions are by appointment only.
PM Sessions are first-come, first-served, but the form is still required.

Photos will be taken at the Fountain in front of Irby Hall.
A rain location will be provided via email to those with an appointment if necessary.

Homecoming Canned Food Drive!

Start collecting your nonperishables and toiletries! We’re stocking the Bear Essentials Food Pantry up! Compete against other groups on campus to win a plaque based on your group size (small, medium, large)! Competition runs from 10/27 – 10/31 PM! Collection cut off time is 2 PM on 10/31! The Homecoming Canned Food Drive is sponsored by the Homecoming Committee – Faculty Senate, Staff Senate, SGA, and the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee!
