About the Small Cities Leadership Development Grant:

Beginning October 1, 2010 the Winthrop Rockefeller Foundation supported the University of Central Arkansas—Center for Community and Economic Development with a grant of $105,000.00.  This grant ends September 30, 2013.

The grant has four specific areas of work that CCED must focus upon:

  2. Developing targeted training and professional development opportunities for the leadership of municipalities under 5,000 in total population.
  3. Providing technical assistance and professional development support to existing nonprofits that target their services to municipalities with under 5,000 in total population.
  4. Organizing and deploying graduate and undergraduate level community development scholars in support of small municipalities and community development nonprofits.

About WRF

For over 35 years, the Winthrop Rockefeller Foundation has worked to make a difference by helping to build and sustain the organizations that serve and strengthen Arkansas. Through grantmaking and strategic partnerships, we are working even harder to help close the economic and educational gaps that leave too many Arkansas families in persistent poverty.  Working together, the needle can and must move from poverty to prosperity for all Arkansans.
