Biometric Screenings

Eligible employees may participate in a biometric screening and complete a health risk assessment survey to earn a health insurance premium discount for the next calendar year. The annual BeWell cycle is Nov. 1 to Oct. 31. Both components must be completed and submitted by the Oct. 31 deadline. Participation is voluntary.

SCREENING: No cost, confidential on-site screenings are offered on the UCA campus at designated times each year. Employees who screen on campus have their results automatically sent to HealthCheck360. No form submission is necessary. As an alternative, employees are welcome to have a biometric screening performed by their own physician. Be sure to print and bring the 2023-2024 UCA Physician Wellness Screening Results Form if you choose to have your doctor perform your biometric screening.

SURVEY: Once your biometric screening results have been processed, you will receive an email from HealthCheck360 notifying you that your Health Risk Assessment Survey is available to complete on myHealthCheck360.

SCORING: Once you complete the survey, your results report will be available on myHealthCheck360. This report includes your health score. All participants that complete a biometric health screening and health risk assessment survey automatically qualify for the $20/month standard tier discount regardless of the health score. Scores are based on seven risk factors .

REASONABLE ALTERNATIVE: If you are unable to meet a health outcome for an incentive under the BeWell/HealthCheck360 program, you can work with HealthCheck360 and, if you wish, your primary care physician for an opportunity to earn the same incentive through a reasonable alternative process. Contact HealthCheck360 at 866-511-0360 or support@healthcheck360.com for more information.

What should I expect during my on-site screening? What tests are run and how is my score calculated?

You will need to fast for at least 4 hours prior to your appointment and drink plenty of water the day of your screening. Your appointment will last approximately 15 minutes. The clinician will measure your height, weight, and blood pressure. A finger stick blood sample, venipuncture blood sample, and a urine sample will also be collected. Waist circumference is optional and will not be included in scoring. Review What Test Are Run ,  How is My Health Score Calculated  and On-site Biometric Screening FAQs for more details. Please note that BeWell includes testing for prostate-specific antigen (PSA) and blood glucose levels (hemoglobin A1c), as applicable.

There is no cost for on-site biometric screenings for benefits-eligible employees enrolled in UCA’s health insurance. If you choose to visit your own doctor for your biometric screening, co-pays and other out-of-pocket expenses may apply depending on the type of visit. Both UCA insurance plans cover a preventative wellness visit with your primary care provider once per calendar year at 100% (no copay or coinsurance). Visit UCA Human Resources to explore details of your health insurance coverage.

How can I improve my health for the next biometric screening?

Biometrics can be improved at any age through healthy lifestyle changes. Most metrics will improve by increasing daily physical activity and establishing healthier eating habits. We recommend consulting with your physician before making any drastic lifestyle changes.
