Faculty and Staff

Spring 2020 is the pilot semester for the Bear Experience.

Two of the four pathways will go live in Cub Connect: Community Engagement and Service and Intellectual and Professional Development.

A select group of students, faculty and staff will participate in the pilot and share their feedback throughout the semester.

The goal is to test the system and make adjustments based on the information we receive from the participants and campus partners.

How you can help with the pilot:

Please add all programs, events and activities to your departmental portal in Cub Connect. When creating the event, you will have the option to tag it as a BearX event. This will ensure that your event shows up when students log into their pathways and that students will receive credit when they scan in at the event. Here is the link to a quick tutorial on creating events in Cub Connect

Don’t have a department portal? Contact Tajaro Hudson in the Office of Student Life, located in the Student Center room 207. He will create a portal for you. Then, he will guide you, (or your administrative assistant or student workers) through adding events to your portal. Send Tajaro a quick email at or contact him at 501-450-3137.

Don’t know how to scan students into an event? We can help with that too. We don’t use the hand-held scanners anymore. Everything is done with our phones using the Event Check-in app. It is just like scanning your boarding pass at the airport. Here is the link to a quick tutorial on using the Event Check-in app

We also invite you to attend one of the many training workshops offered throughout the semester. Workshop announcements are sent through campus email and listed in UCA Inform. If you have questions email Tajaro a at or contact him at 501-450-3137.

Please be open to sharing your professional expertise with us. We may need your input on a subject matter or an operational procedure.
