Cultural Ties: Sonya Clark, Joyce J. Scott, and Helen Zughaib

This exhibition featuring the works of of three artists who confront racial and cultural stereotypes in a wide array of techniques. Sonya Clark is a primarily known as a fibers artist who interweaves black history and racial stereotypes with mixed-media to create art intended to address social tensions.  Joyce J. Scott is a jewelry maker, sculptor, printmaker, weaver and performance artist whose goal is to confront stereotypes. Helen Zughaib is a Lebanese-born artist who specializes in paintings, drawing, and fiber to provide subtle glimpses into Arab and American cultures with the intent of encouraging understanding and dialogue between the two. All works by Sonya Clark and Joyce J. Scott have been lent Courtesy of Goya Contemporary, Baltimore, MD
