The Mathematics Department at UCA is excited to host the Central Arkansas Regional Mathematics Contest, sponsored by ACTMThank you for your patience as we work out many new details of the ACTM math contest. We have done our best to prepare a rewarding academic experience for the students while also being considerate of everyone’s health.

ACTM recognizes that there has been a significant disruption in education across the state this semester. As such, the 2022 ACTM Regional Math Contest is being offered with greater flexibility. UCA will administer the exam in a “distributed format” – the contest will be given at your high school.

Your students will take their contest on their home high school campus, proctored by campus personnel any time between March 5 and March 17, 2022.

  • Complete this form once you know the date of your contest and how many students you expect to participate. A minimum of three business day before the your contest date is needed in or to guarantee that we can get the contest material to you in time; more advanced notice is appreciated if possible.
  • We ask each school to proctor their contest in a way that does not reduce students’ instructional time.
  • The time limit for the exam is 45 minutes.
  • The use of calculators that do not contain a subset of a computer algebra system (CAS) is permissible. (Note: TI-83, TI-84 TI-Inspire series are permissible, TI-89 and TI-92 and TI-Inspire Cas are NOT allowed.)
  • Instructions for proctors
  • Return student contest materials to UCA for evaluation within a few days of administering the contest and no later than March 17, 2022.
  • Include payment for the contest fee with the contest materials. There is a $2 per student contest fee for each student participating. Make fee payable to ACTM in the form of a check or purchase order.
  • No pre-registration is needed for individual students.

The contest team at UCA will score all contest materials. Winners will be announced on this webpage Tuesday, March 29, 2022. Trophies and certificates will be delivered to the schools soon afterward.

Secondary school students enrolled in any one of the following courses are invited to participate: Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, Trig/Precalculus, Calculus, and Statistics.

There will be no 2022 State Math Contest.
