The Department of Writing at the University of Central Arkansas is among a growing number of programs in the United States to adopt a comprehensive approach to communication studies.   This approach arises from our belief that an individual's personal and professional development, to a large degree, rests on his or her ability to communicate effectively in a variety of modes and contexts.   Our mission, then, is to provide the UCA community and the citizens of Arkansas with resources and experiences that support, promote, and enhance the ability to communicate effectively.
