Lisa Mommsen (M.A., Soka University of America) is Lecturer II in the Intensive English Program. After graduate school, she was a lecturer in the business department at a college in Tokyo, Japan and taught English as a Foreign Language for six years. Her courses there included public speaking, academic writing, and a marketing seminar. Upon returning to the U.S., she taught ESL students in California and Texas. She has taught nearly every course offered in the IEP since she became a faculty member in 2006. Her interests include project-based learning and curriculum development.
