Who are Wellness Ambassadors?

Wellness Ambassadors are a group of students who serve as a liaison between the Office of Student Wellness & Development and other students on and off campus to help promote health and well-being by assisting in designing, promoting, and participating in health events and campaigns on campus.

Requirements:

  • Be a sophomore, junior, or senior attending UCA
  • Maintain a 2.5 GPA
  • Strong communication skills and a passion for educating and helping others.

Duties:

  • Assist with the planning, publicizing, and implementation of wellness events.
  • Promote Student Health 101 magazine and create welcome videos.
  • Collaborate and build partnerships with student organizations, groups, and departments on campus.
  • Contribute ideas for making programs more successful and reach more students.
  • Volunteer at programs, events, and coordinate wellness activities.
  • Act as a positive role model for living a healthy lifestyle.

Benefits of being a Wellness Ambassador:

  • Develop skills in program planning, facilitation, and public speaking.
  • Gain extensive knowledge about various health concerns affecting college students.
  • Become part of a diverse team of students dedicated to promoting wellness to peers.
  • Gain experience for your resume.

Time commitment:

  • Training session in August
  • Attend bi-weekly meetings (time will be set by selected ambassadors)
  • Volunteer a minimum of 20 hours a semester (this includes planning sessions, presentations, health programs, and promotion activities).

How many are there?

Ten to fifteen will be selected. This number may increase each year as the program expands.
