One of the many benefits that students of University College enjoy is intense academic counseling by dedicated advisors assigned especially to UC students. These professional advisors are dedicated primarily to assisting first year developmental students in defining and achieving their academic goals.

Important dates for the 2011 Spring Semester
Thursday, January 13, 2011: FIRST DAY OF CLASSES
Make sure that you have printed a updated copy of your schedule from MyUCA. The room numbers for your classes often change before the semester begins. Also, buy your books!
Wednesday, January 19, 2011: LAST DAY TO ADD / CHANGE A COURSE
This is the last day you can switch classes or add a new class to your schedule.
Friday, March 11, 2011: MIDTERM POINT OF THE SEMESTER
All UC students will receive a midterm grade for each of their classes. Check your grades on the Self-Service tab in MyUCA the following Wednesday. Figure your GPA here, and work with your instructors to make sure you earn the grades you need for the semester.
April 4-25, 2011: ADVANCE REGISTRATION
During Advance Registration, students can sign up for classes in the upcoming semester. Check your email to find when your advisor begins taking appointments. Once your appointment is made, show up prepared: bring a copy of your midterm grades, look at the upcoming schedule of classes and the General Education Check Sheet to select a series of class options for next semester--use the Master Class Schedule to arrange your proposed classes. Have backup classes selected in case you cannot get your first choices.
Friday, April 1, 2011: FINAL DATE TO WITHDRAW FROM A COURSE WITH A "W" GRADE
This is the last day you can withdraw from a course with a "W" grade. A "W" grade does NOT affect your GPA, though not carrying enough hours may affect your financial aid eligibility. NOTE: You may not withdraw from a UNIV course because of UCA's "Three Strikes" remediation policy. Quitting the class will still count as one of your three allowed attempts, so stay in the class and get as much out of the attempt.
Friday, April 22, 2011: FINAL DATE TO WITHDRAW WITH A "WP" or "WF" GRADE
This is the last day you can withdraw from a course with a "WP" or a "WF" grade. A "WP" grade does NOT affect your GPA, though not carrying enough hours may affect your financial aid eligibility. A "WF" will count on your transcript the same as an "F" grade and bring your GPA down. NOTE: You may not withdraw from a UNIV course because of UCA's "Three Strikes" remediation policy. Quitting the class will still count as one of your three allowed attempts, so stay in the class and get as much out of the attempt.
May 2 - 6, 2011: FINAL EXAMS
Final exams at UCA do not take place at the same time as the regular class meetings from the semester. Consult the Final Exam Schedule to see when your exams take place.
