Diversity

Value and respect are due all people, regardless of differences in age, gender, faith, economic level, etc. This seminar presents diversity training in a highly interactive, non-threatening self-exploratory manner. The program addresses the value of working in a diverse environment and provides participants the opportunity to discuss both the challenges and rewards in doing so. Seminar content will target a diversity issue, population, or topic. The seminar is provided on an annual basis for the entire UCA population.

Workplace Harassment

UCA requires all employees to be familiar with its Sexual Misconduct Policy. The policy focuses on Sexual Harassment but also addresses general harassment in the workplace. This not only protects the University employees from liability but helps to provide a positive and safe work environment on campus. The seminar defines workplace harassment, provides examples as to what constitutes harassment and identifies the proper steps for employees to take if they feel they are a target of sexual harassment or any other form of harassment. This seminar is provided on an annual basis for the entire UCA population.

Title IX

UCA requires all employees to be familiar with Title IX, the Violence against Women Act (VAWA), and the Clery Act. This seminar provides information on Title IX law, UCA policy, and mandatory reporters. University employees have the choice of completing the Title IX training seminar on-site or online.

Professional Development Opportunities

Professional Development seminars are offered throughout the year to educate, equip, and encourage employees while they fulfill their professional roles on the UCA campus. The seminars include: Lunch and Learns, Customer Service, New Staff Orientation , & the Administrative Professional Staff Reception. These voluntary seminars are open to all faculty and staff.
