Work-Study

UCA Theatre offers students excellent job training. Paid positions are in the form of work study opportunities and stipends. Our goal is to provide specialized job training and real work experience to make our students more competitive in the professional world.

Work Study Positions

WORK STUDY APPLICATION – UCA Theatre has a number of paid staff positions available in theatre business management, costumes, lights, properties, scenery and sound. Some of these positions are available through the Federal Work Study program. UCA Theatre also has a limited number of paid staff positions for skilled workers regardless of their eligibility for financial aid. Applications may be submitted throughout the academic year.

Arkansas Shakespeare Theatre Apprenticeship

UCA is home to the Arkansas Shakespeare Theatre (AST). It is important for UCA Theatre students to be involved in this professional theatre company. The apprenticeship program allows students with limited theatre knowledge to partake in this wonderful summer festival. This apprenticeship helps broaden the students knowledge base and makes them more competitive for AST and other professional theatre adventures in the future.

Youth Theatre of Central Arkansas Internship

UCA Theatre’s Youth Theatre of Central Arkansas hires several student interns to aid in our annual Summer Intensive Program for young people grades 5-12. This is a great opportunity for students who are looking to go into theatre education to learn about lesson planning, classroom management, and theatre education. The YTCA Summer Intensive Program runs Monday through Friday. Applications must be submitted by Thursday, March 29, 2018.
