Career Planning at UCA: What is Discover and how can it help me?
Discover is free, self-guided computer-based career exploration program. It can be a valuable tool in helping one determine what type of career would be right for him/her and what career that person would enjoy. Discover will produce a list of occupations and careers that can be printed out and discussed with any of the counselors in Career Services.
To take the Discover assessment, contact the Career Services office (450-3134) and schedule an appointment.

Cofradia Bilingual School is a nonprofit bilingual school and has been serving the community of Cofradia since 1997. Cofradia is a small town just west of one of the largest cities in Honduras, San Pedro Sula. CBS actively seeks disadvantaged children in the area and provides them with a quality bilingual education, hence a much brighter future.
Volunteers need strong English language skills to qualify. Spanish skills and prior teaching experience are not required.
For its volunteers, Cofradia Bilingual School provides:

WorldTeach
WorldTeach is currently accepting applications for teaching opportunities in our fully-funded programs in American Samoa, Micronesia and the Marshall Islands. www.worldteach.org
Departs: mid-July 2012 • Duration: 1 year • Application Deadline: April 1, 2012 (but admissions is rolling!)
Cost: Fully funded. Includes round-trip airfare, room and board, monthly stipend of about 400USD, in-country field support and professional development, international health insurance including medical evacuation, language and cross-cultural training, and a chance to form a support network with other volunteers
Teaching: k-12, college, all subjects, e.g. English, math, science, entrepreneurship, computer literacy, among others
The successful candidate:
- holds a bachelor's degree by date of departure
- is a fluent speaker of English
- has formal or informal teaching experience
- has demonstrated interest in volunteering & public service
- has experience living and/or teaching abroad

Peace Corps
Peace Corps service is a life-defining leadership experience. Since 1961, the Peace Corps has shared with the world America's most precious resource – its people. Volunteers serve in 76 countries in Africa, Asia, the Caribbean, Central America and Mexico, South America, Europe, the Pacific Islands and the Middle East.
