Art Journaling Session 2

Art journaling has become very popular over the past few years and is a therapeutic way to explore your creativity, record your life and practice techniques like drawing and painting. This class covers choosing or creating your own journal, using basic mixed media art materials, putting together a mixed media kit, different styles of art journaling, where to find prompts and a variety of mixed media techniques. Estates, Wills, Trusts… Oh My!

This workshop will cover the basics on estate planning such as wills, trusts and powers of attorney. Family Lego Day at UCA

Kids build cars, trucks, landmarks and unique creations with Lego. At the Lego Family Day workshop, kids will receive tips for future Lego builds, learn Lego trivia and have a chance to win Lego prizes! They will also learn the basic steps in making a Lego movie using licensed Lego software. Parents or guardians must be present. Kids will receive a Lego kit and minifigure.

Teaching Civility in Schools and in the Community

Schools are faced with increased incidences of incivility and uncivil behavior. Many of the challenging behaviors are also found in the community. This workshop provides participants with strategies, methods, and approaches that can be incorporated into the school’s current curriculum but can also be used effectively for community organizations serving young people. Service-learning and project-based learning ideas, case stories, and other activities are used to support effective implementation of the strategies and methods presented.
