Outreach Announces Fall Tech Series

Outreach is offering numerous professional development workshops to help educators integrate innovative technology into the classroom. From iPads to Wikis, these workshops will help enhance and deepen student learning.

With the rising popularity of iPads in the classroom, Outreach is excited to offer a workshop blending iPads and the Common Core, iPads in the Classroom: Common Core and E-books.

Additional technology workshops will be offered online starting September 19th. Build your own classroom site with Creating Web Pages, learn how to better interact, share ideas and facilitate collaboration with Web 2.0: Blogs, Wikis and Podcasts, or engage your learners through creative multimedia lessons with Teaching Smarter with SMART Boards.

Plus, to ensure all your lessons and activities are free of copyright infringement, Outreach is offering a free, workshop to address the common copyright issues faced by educators, Copyright, Fair Use & Digital Media: What to Know and Where to Go.

Arkansas Studies Bouquet Workshop Offered in August

Due to popular demand, the workshop An Arkansas Studies Bouquet: Mix of Free Resources and History Topics, will be offered again on August 2nd. The workshop offered on July 31 is full and will no longer accept registrations.

An Arkansas Studies Bouquet: Mix of Free Resources and History Topics is a free workshop for educators focusing on Arkansas studies. New History Workshop Offers Helpful Resources For Teachers

Outreach is pleased to offer a new workshop for educators, An Arkansas Studies Bouquet: Mix of Free Resources and History Topics. This free workshop, scheduled for July 31st, provides educators a variety of resources to help facilitate the teaching of Arkansas studies frameworks; including lesson plans, presentations and training on the comprehensive website, Arkansas History Hub. New Spring 2012 Outreach Catalog is here!!

The new Spring 2012 Outreach Catalog is available online!!  Some will receive a printed catalog in the mail soon however, if you do not receive one, you can always request a printed catalog and we will be happy to mail it to you.  You will find information about some exciting new courses such as Dance Fit Line Dancing and Sign Language for Babies.  Also, cake decorating is back for all of you who love to make cakes!!  Of course, old favorites such as Photography and Burn & Chisel are all available as well as great freebie courses such as How to Start a Small Business, Employment Outlook and the Arkansas Boaters Education course.

FREE PD opportunity for teachers on Oct. 26th! Register for “The Crisis Mr. Faubus Made” seminar.

Teachers, administrators and anyone else interested in the Little Rock Central High Crisis should register for the FREE upcoming seminar “The Crisis Mr. Faubus Made: The Role of the Arkansas Gazette in the Central High Crisis.”

Featured films include “The Old Gray Lady: Arkansas’s First Newspaper” and “The Crisis Mr. Faubus Made: The Role of the Arkansas Gazette in the Central High Crisis,” produced by UCA.  Participants will receive a packet with both films and a teacher’s guide and hear research presented by Dr. Sondra Gordy, Angela Webster and Dr. Nancy Gallavan.  The seminar will start at 9:00 am and will be hosted at the Brewer Hegeman Conference Center at UCA.  Click for more information or to register.  Registration on site will also be available from 8:00 am – 9:00 am.
