The total term of federal student loan repayment shall not exceed three (3) years.
Teacher Opportunity Program (TOP)
The Teacher Opportunity Program (TOP) offers tuition reimbursement grants to Arkansas teachers and administrators. Teachers and administrators may apply for reimbursement of out-of-pocket expenses paid for up to six (6) college credit hours completed for each academic year, not to exceed three thousand ($3000) dollars. The amount awarded by the TOP will be based on the tuition, mandatory fees, books and required supplies paid by the applicant for six (6) college credit hours completed.
Reimbursable fees are those required of all students. Licensed teachers taking courses that apply towards an additional license in a subject matter declared to be a shortage area by the Arkansas Department of Education will receive first priority. The P3T Program will work closely with the University Office of Financial Aid, Graduate Studies Office and the Admissions Office to ensure that the qualified candidates are viable applicants for these funds.
Individual programs may have additional exit requirements. Individuals from groups traditionally underrepresented in STEM, including minorities, individuals with disabilities, women, and veterans are highly encouraged to apply. Qualified veterans who are registered with the VetSuccess.gov are also highly encouraged to apply.
