UCA RECEIVES GIFT TO SUPPORT SCHOLARSHIPS FOR HISPANIC STUDENTS

The University of Central Arkansas will receive $50,000 to establish and endow the Drew Marshall Gainor Scholarship for Hispanic students in certain business disciplines.

The fund is being established by Lauren and Drew Gainor ’10 in honor of Drew’s late father, Drew Marshall Gainor.

“This is an opportunity to leave a legacy to honor my father, the late Drew Marshall Gainor, while extending the impact of education on minority communities,” he said. “We want to share the value of an education with future students.”

Students majoring in finance, insurance and risk management, or innovation and entrepreneurship can apply for the scholarships starting in 2019. Full-time junior- or senior-level students with a cumulative GPA of 2.5 will be eligible to apply. This is the first scholarship fund established at UCA for Hispanic business students.

Gainor was a member of Sigma Tau Gamma and the Association of Future Alumni while a UCA student, and he is a life member of the UCA Alumni Association. He is currently managing director at Northwestern Mutual.
