UCA breaks ground on Student Health Services Center

The University of Central Arkansas broke ground on a new 38,000-square-foot Student Health Services Center on Thursday, June 15, at the construction site located just west of Baridon Hall on Student Lane in the center of campus.

The three-story facililty will house the university’s student health clinic, a women’s health clinic, disability support services, counseling center, and health promotion and wellness center.

Among the speakers at Thursday’s ceremony were university president Lu Hardin and UCA Trustee Dr. Michael Stanton.

A reception followed in the president’s dining room located at Christian Cafeteria, adjacent to the site.

Construction is expected to take approximately 14 months with the building to be functional by the start of the 2007-2008 school year.
