The University of Central Arkansas’ trombone choir, BearBones, will perform Nov. 6, 2018 in the Snow Fine Arts Center Recital Hall. The 7:30 p.m. performance is free and open to the public.

The BearBones trombone choir is an ensemble made up of trombone players from across the University of Central Arkansas campus. It meets once a week and plays repertoire written specifically for trombone ensembles from four to 16 voices as well as arrangements of pieces written for orchestras, choirs, rock bands and more.

Dr. Justin Cook, assistant professor of trombone, said the concert will open with a piece titled “Reflections” by Anthony Barfield. The Natural Slides will also perform two pieces in the concert, including “Transcendental Chorales,” written by Joseph Buono. This piece premiered this summer at the International Trombone Festival. UCA is part of the International Trombone Association, and this performance will serve as the Arkansas premier.

The concert will close with an arrangement of the theme from Robin Hood Prince of Thieves arranged by an alumnus of the ensemble who is now a graduate student at Ohio University.
