Staff Senate accepting nominations for Angel Bear Tree

University of Central Arkansas Staff Senate is accepting nominations of UCA employees and families through Friday, Nov. 18, to be included in the Angel Bear Tree holiday project.

The Angel Bear Tree project is similar to the Salvation Army?s Angel Tree, but is designed specifically to benefit UCA employees and their families.Current UCA employees and immediate family members, including children and grandchildren who are living with the employee, may be nominated. UCA employees are also invited to make self nominations.

Individuals who want to make a nomination should complete and return a nomination form, which can be found on the Staff Senate Web page. Nominations forms should be turned in to Lisa Shoemake in Torreyson Library Room 304 by the close of business on Nov. 18.

The Angel Bear Tree will be located in the lobby of Torreyson Library beginning Monday, Nov. 28.

?We invite all UCA employees to participate in this holiday project,? said Staff Senator Katherine Hambuchen. ?The Angel Bear Tree is a way for the UCA community to come together to help one another during the season of giving.?

The Angel Bear Tree was first organized by the Staff Club in 1986. Staff Senate took over the project in 1999. The Angel Bear Tree serves about 150 UCA family members each year.
