CONWAY — The University of Central Arkansas Department of Art will host the annual BA/BFA Senior Exhibit beginning with an opening reception on Thursday, April 4 in the Baum Gallery of Fine Art.

The 5 p.m. reception is free and open to the public. The exhibit, also free and open to the public, will be on display until Monday, April 29.

“This is another way for our department to showcase the talent we have here on campus in a unique way,” Barclay McConnell, Baum Gallery director, said. “This show is a benefit to everyone in the community because they are given the opportunity to see art of a high caliber on display made by our very own students.”

Graduating seniors are required to participate in the exhibit. BA and BFA students to be featured in the exhibit include Bonnie Brown of Conway; Karen Chrisco of Conway; Zachery Easley of Searcy; Tyler Gunther of Conway; Jennifer Hicks of Quitman; Jennifer Holland of Little Rock; Micah House of Cabot; Keela Light of Norfork; Bon Means of Conway; Kimberly Parnell of Conway; M. Rachel Stripling of Conway; Jessica Moore of Morrilton; Jessica Camp of Conway; Brittany Madalone of Greenbrier; Caley Pennington of Prescott and Grace Robert of Conway.

McConnell said she was looking forward to the reception because it is a time for the family and friends of the artists to admire their work.

“The quality of work our students are presenting is really stellar,” she said. “It’s always amazing to see what these students are preparing for the final part of their college career. What they present is always really high quality artwork and it’s a really exciting experience to see.”

McConnell said she hoped that people in the UCA community and other surrounding areas visit the gallery and take advantage of the artwork on display.

“I hope that the students and others who attend will have a very pleasurable gallery experience,” she said. “This should give everyone an opportunity to see the great artwork that has been produced right here on campus.”
