CONWAY — Saturday Night Fever: The Musical, a production based on the classic 1977 American dance film starring John Travolta, will appear at the University of Central Arkansas’s Donald W. Reynolds Performance Hall on Feb. 28.

As a coming-of-age story, the musical centers on 19-year-old stallion Tony Manero’s SaturdayNightFever7life in the 1970s Brooklyn disco scene. Manero lives for Saturday night when, in a break from his daily routine as a store clerk, he shows off his moves to the tune of classic Bee Gees hits such as “Stayin’ Alive,” “Disco Inferno” and “How Deep Is Your Love.”

Saturday Night Fever: The Musical will have all of the elements that you love and remember about the movie,” said director of UCA Public Appearances Amanda Horton. “The costumes will be hip, the music will be groovy and the dancing will make you want to get up in the aisles.”

The performance, which contains adult themes and some strong language, will begin at 5 p.m.

Tickets are $30 to $40 for the general public and free for UCA students with a valid university ID. For tickets, call UCA Ticket Central Box Office at (501) 450-3265 between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., Monday through Friday or toll free from anywhere in Arkansas at 1-866-810-0012 or visit www.uca.edu/reynolds.
