Opera Theater to present The Marriage of Figaro

UCA OPERA THEATER TO PRESENT MOZART’S THE MARRIAGE OF FIGARO

CONWAY — The University of Central Arkansas Opera Theater will perform Mozart’s The Marriage of Figaro March 17-19 in the Donald W. Reynolds Performance Hall.

 

This production is a collaboration among UCA Opera Theater, the Conway Symphony Orchestra and Voices of Central Arkansas. The Marriage of Figaro is Mozart’s most beloved opera and will be performed in English.

 

“We are very excited about the production,” said Dr. Robert Holden, professor of music and director of UCA Opera Theater. “We look forward to sharing it with the UCA community.”

 

Performances each day will begin at 7 p.m. General admission will be $10. UCA students will have free admission with current ID. Tickets will be available and the door and may be purchased by calling the UCA music department at (501) 450-3163.

 

A selection of scenes from the opera will be featured during the Conway Symphony Orchestra children’s concert, “Figaro for Families”, Saturday, March 14 at 2 p.m. in Reynolds. General admission to the CSO concert is $6 for all ages and includes crafts, refreshments and a chance to “meet the instruments” after the performance. Tickets for the CSO concert may be purchased by calling (501) 450-3265 or in person at the Reynolds Performance Hall box office.
