CONWAY — The University of Central Arkansas Department of Music will host tuba and euphonium concerts — Octubafest on Tuesday, Oct. 28 and Tubaween on Thursday, Oct. 30.

Octubafest is a fun-filled musical night with performances by UCA students.  Tubaween will feature the UCA Tuba-Euphonium Ensemble dressed in costumes.

Both concerts are free and open to the public and are set for 7.30 p.m. in the Snow Fine Arts Center.

“Our Tubaween theme is 007 Music of James Bond,” Dr. Gail Robertson, visiting assistant professor of tuba and euphonium, said.

The event the night before Halloween will feature music from James Bond classics as well as other movie favorites. The program includes works such as “You Only Live Twice,” “Goldfinger,” “The James Bond Theme,” “From Russia With Love,” and “Thunderball,” among others.

“There will also be a Harry Potter medley, and we have a special guest from our music office to be featured with us,” Robertson said. “Euphonium soloist Carol Ebinger, administrative assistant for the Department of Music, will be featured on the Concierto en Una Nota. She does not play the euphonium, so it will be a very fun event for her and us.”
