Nursing department awards scholarships

The Department of Nursing at the University of Central Arkansas recently announced the award of four scholarships to undergraduate and graduate students.

Johnelle Hunt Scholarship
Laura Gillis from Conway, Ark., has been selected as the recipient of the Johnelle Hunt Nursing Scholarship for the 2013-2014 academic year. This scholarship is for a graduate nursing student, enrolled in the nurse educator track and who serves as part-time clinical faculty member within the UCA Department of Nursing. The recipient must be enrolled in the nurse educator track and in good academic standing.

Linda Vail Holbert Scholarship
Lindsey Droste, from Conway, Ark., has been selected to receive the Linda Vail Holbert Nursing Scholarship for the 2013-2014 academic year. The scholarship is for a junior or senior nursing student enrolled full-time in required nursing courses and in good academic standing. In addition, it recognizes nursing students who demonstrate high professional standards, meaningful engagement in learning activities, and quality nursing care.

Graduate Academic Excellence Award
Jennifer James from Marshall, Ark., is the 2013 recipient of the University of Central Arkansas, Department of Nursing Graduate academic Excellence Awards. It is presented annually by the faculty to the graduate nursing student with the highest cumulative grade point average and who evidences intellectual curiosity and scholarly writing.

 

Undergraduate Academic Excellence Award
Erin Moore from Mansfield, Texas, is the 2013 recipient of the UCA Department of Nursing Undergraduate Academic Excellence Award. It is presented annually to the senior nursing student with the highest cumulative grade point average.
