Message from Interim President Courtway

Welcome to the University of Central Arkansas. Conveniently located in the heart of the state, UCA’s bustling, Georgian-style campus is among the most beautiful in the region.

With a history that spans over 100 years, UCA is the second-largest university in Arkansas, with about 13,000 students enrolled. UCA’s diverse array of academic offerings — including 160 undergraduate, masters, and doctoral degree programs — gives students the opportunities they need to pursue their interests, and each academic program is grounded in a philosophy that emphasizes habits of mind and ways of relating to the world. At UCA, the faculty and students engage with the campus and community in teaching-learning partnerships that promote intellectual and personal success.

Student involvement in campus life is ingrained in the culture at UCA. We offer more than 140 student organizations, 17 intramural sports activities, a large fitness and recreation center, Division I athletics, nationally-known comedians and recording artists, minority and international student programs, theater and art productions, and much more. Involvement in student life promotes leadership skills, a sense of community, and life-long friendships.

I invite you to explore our website and get to know UCA better. Everyone at UCA stands ready to answer your questions and welcome you to our campus. We hope to see you here soon.
