BA/BFA Senior Show in Baum Gallery

CONWAY — The 2016 BA/BFA Spring Senior Exhibition will be on display at the University of Central Arkansas’s Baum Gallery of Fine Art from April 7-21.

A reception is set for Sunday, April 17, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Gallery exhibits and events are free and open to the public.

“Each fall and spring, the senior BA and BFA students participate in a senior exhibition,” said Dr. Jeff Young, chair of the Department of Art. “Their work is critiqued and selected by the art faculty for inclusion in the exhibit. The work on display this spring represents a wide range of media including painting, sculpture, photography, ceramics, drawing and installation.  The content of the work is also wide-ranging, with the artists exploring topics that include nature, spirituality, gender, and family.”

BA students participating include Adam Austin, Art Education Emphasis, of Little Rock; Austin Benson, Art Education Emphasis, Springfield; Alisya Coghill, Fine Art Emphasis, Greenbrier; Patrick Evans, Art Education Emphasis, Cotter; Joshua Hall, Art Education Emphasis, Vilonia; Matthew Howard, Fine Art Emphasis, Conway; Erik Rivera, Fine Art Emphasis, Conway; Addie Rule, Fine Art Emphasis, Dallas, Texas; Catherine Switzer, Fine Art Emphasis, Little Rock; Shelbie Thomas, Fine Art Emphasis, Beebe; and Garland Yarber, Fine Art Emphasis, Texarkana.

BFA students participating include Kaylee Dewees, Sculpture Emphasis, St. Joe; Alison Swanson, Painting Emphasis, Mountain Home; Sierra Wheeler, Photography Emphasis, Conway; and Ashley Wilkerson, Painting Emphasis, Little Rock.

The Baum Gallery is in McCastlain Hall on the UCA campus.
