“The program has been such a huge success in part from the work of our staff and through the partnerships that we’ve developed over the past year, but the students are the key to the success of the Coding Academy,” explained Shelley Mehl, associate vice president for Outreach and Community Engagement.

Six students will participate in Demo Day. Projects range from a place to keep, create and manage recipes to tracking the maintenance of a vehicle.

Mary Dunlap, director of the Arkansas Coding Academy, said, “This group of students has worked tirelessly on their database driven web applications and have done an amazing job this past three months. They have developed some very sophisticated applications and we’re very proud of what they have accomplished.”

The Arkansas Coding Academy is now accepting applications for its next full-time and part-time classes.

The part-time class, which begins August 14, will be held at Philander Smith College in Little Rock.

Also on August 14, Arkansas Coding Academy Day will be held at UCA Downtown.
