Dr. Christy Vogt-Huskey teaches applied lessons and accompanies for the UCA Music Department. Dr. Huskey has a DMA in Keyboard Performance and Pedagogy from the University of Miami and a Masters in Music Education, emphasis in Piano Pedagogy, from the University of Oklahoma. Her teaching experience includes pre-college piano lessons at The Community Music School at Wheaton College as well as being Director of the Keyboard for Kids preparatory program while at the University of Miami. Dr. Huskey was also on faculty at McNeese State University for thirteen years, teaching courses in class piano, applied piano, and piano pedagogy. As a member of MTNA, Dr. Huskey isa ctive as an adjudicator and clinician, presenting at state and national conferences in New Mexico, Texas, Florida, Louisiana, and Illinois. Most recently, Dr. Huskey presented the session, “Balancing the Eye and the Ear: Applying Principles of the Suzuki MEthod to Reading Based TEaching” at the National Conference of Keyboard Pedagogy.
