As happens often in teacher licensure, a new requirement has been added that affects YOUR license. Note that this requirement was mandated by the 2013 Arkansas Legislature and is effective immediately.  That means that you must meet this new requirement before we can recommend you for a license.
No new licenses will be issued unless that applicant has completed professional development in suicide prevention.  The professional development is available on the Arkansas IDEAS portal (where many of you completed your child maltreatment training and directions are already on the MAT website).

Internship Placement Meeting - Spring: April 4 at 5:30 pm in Mashburn 103

For those needing Internship Placement in Fall 2013 and ONLY IF you have attempted all avenues to secure a position in your licensure area will a placement be made for your internship.  An internship placement is the EXCEPTION and not recommended. Candidates should make sure that they have completed a placement package from Career Placement Office in Bernard Hall, can show experience with teaching such as substitute teaching, attended the Teacher Job Fair and have applied to various teaching positions before requesting a placement. If a placement is still needed, the Internship Placement Meetingmust be attended where more information will be shared.
