Departmental Undergraduate Scholars Program

Seniors, with the consent of their advisor and the department chair, having a grade point average of at least 3.25, may participate in a departmental honors program which, when successfully completed, will allow the student to graduate as an undergraduate scholar. Departmental majors will be required to complete a special problems (MKTG 4390 or MGMT 4390) course or another approved independent study. In each case, the student will complete a research project under the direction of a faculty member.

Proposed Undergraduate Bulletin Description
Exceptional students may be invited by the faculty to pursue recognition as a departmental undergraduate scholar. The student will be ask to complete a capstone project appropriate to their major under the direction of a faculty member. Generally the following criteria will be used for the selection of perspective departmental undergraduate scholars:

To be considered the student will have to meet the following:

  1. Senior;
  2. With the consent of their faculty advisor;
  3. With the consent of the department chair; and
  4. Will have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.25.
  5. Given the above, enroll in an approved independent study.

Given the preceding the student may participate in a departmental honors program. When successfully completed, the student will be allowed to graduate as an undergraduate scholar.
