A native of Peculiar, Mo, Sam began in August 2012 as a Clinical Instructor and Assistant Athletic Trainer. At UCA, Sam will teach courses in the Department of Kinesiology and Physical Education as well as provide medical services for the Men’s Soccer and Baseball teams.
Prior to working at UCA, Sam worked as a graduate assistant athletic trainer at the University of Nebraska Omaha overseeing the medical needs of the Baseball, Women’s Soccer, Women’s Swimming and Diving and Wrestling. While working at UNO, Sam completed a Master’s of Science degree in Health, Physical Education and Recreation with an emphasis in Exercise Science. He completed a thesis project researching sport specialization in baseball and its effects on shoulder range of motion and overall functional movement.
He holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Athletic Training from Missouri State University in Springfield. While a student at Missouri State University, he was extensively involved in student leadership activities at the local, state and district levels as well as the recipient of several university, district and national scholarships.
Sam is a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association, Southwest Athletic Trainers’ Association, and the Arkansas Athletic Trainers’ Association.
