UCA Athletic Training Program – Additional Expenses

 

Pre-Program Majors (AT Program candidates)

Uniform: Khaki shorts/pants, $15.00 – 50.00 each,

UCA purple or grey T-Shirt, $10.00 – 30.00 each

  • Items can be purchased through local stores (e.g. UCA bookstore, Wal-Mart)
  • Name-tag is provided by UCA

Background Check: $40.00 Students seeking admission are required to submit to the Program Director a criminal background check from an approved agency by the application for admission deadline.  The cost of the criminal background check is set by an approved external agency (e.g. www.certifiedbackground.com, Arkansas State Police.)

Physical Examination: free at UCA Student Health Services (students must use the UCA Athletic Training Program Physical Exam form)

  • Shots/Immunizations approximately $50.00 each (e.g. MMR approximately $50.00, HBV series of 3 shots is approximately $100.00).  UCA Student Health Services charges approximately cost of vaccinations.

AT Program Majors (Level 1, Spring)

Uniform: Khaki shorts/pants $15.00 – 50.00 (each)

  • Items can be purchased through local stores (e.g. UCA bookstore, Wal-Mart)
  • Name-tag is provided by UCA

UCA Athletic Training Program T-Shirt – provided by UCA

Lab Coat: Medium length (approximately mid-thigh) $5.00 – 50.00 (rented lab coats must be dry cleaned before returning to UCA clinical coordinator)

CPR Pocket Mask with an oxygen inlet: $20.00 (e.g. redcrossstore.org, amazon.com)

Stethoscope: $40.00 – 60.00 (Avoid tubing longer than 22 to 27 inches or double tubing and the bell should have good acoustic sensitivity.)

CPR/AED certification: $30.00 – 40.00 (American Red Cross – CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer)

Tape/Bandage Scissors: $30.00 – 40.00

Health Sciences Fee:  $14.00 per credit hour for ATTR 2356

Transportation costs: Gas, parking, etc. are the responsibility of each student.

AT Program Majors (Levels 2 – 4, Fall, Spring, Fall)

Living Expenses: Housing and food August preseason (3-4 weeks) are the responsibility of Level 2 and Level 4 students

T-Shirt and game polo shirt: provided by UCA

Fanny Pack: $30.00 – 45.00 (typically purchased before the start of Level 2)

Health Sciences fee: $14.00 per credit hour for ATTR 3301 and 3335 (Level 2, Fall), ATTR 3327 and 3345 (Level 3, Spring) and ATTR 4301 (Level 4, Fall)

Transportation: Gas and parking, etc. are the responsibility of each student

AT Program Majors (Level 5, Spring)

CPR/AED re-certification: $30.00 – 40.00

Health Sciences fee: $14.00 per credit hour for ATTR 4327

Transportation costs: Gas, parking, etc. are the responsibility of each student

ANNUAL COSTS:

TB Test cost: $5.00 each at UCA Student Health Service for Level 1, 3 and 5 students

Health Sciences fee: $14.00 per credit hour for ATTR 2353, 3301, 3327, 3335, 3345, 4301, and 4327

Kinesiology and Physical Education Department fee: $5.00 per credit hour

Extra AT Program T-Shirt: $10.00 – 20.00 each

Living Expenses: housing and food for 3-4 weeks in August preseason are the responsibility of the student

Transportation: Students are responsible for their own transportation to and from clinical experiences

Liability Insurance – Provided
