Available storage space for the home folders of faculty and staff is10GB. What is the home folder? It is a personal network file storage space for your files. When you login to the network with a Windows computer you will see that you have a drive letter O: listed. This is your home folder. This storage space is included in our data backup, so it offers a higher level of protection for your files. The home folder is also accessible remotely via the NetStorage service. If you are using a Macintosh computer you may also access your home folder with Finder in the same manner as pool drives.

Pool drives or departmental shared folders are provided so individuals can share information and data among the department.
Backup refers to making copies of data so that these additional copies may be used to restore the original after a data loss event. One way that backups are used is to restore small numbers of files after they have been accidentally deleted or corrupted.
The UCA Information Technology Department also provides additional storage space via the iFolder 3 service. Each user is allowed up to 500 megabytes under the iFolder 3 service. All storage space is backed up on a regular basis.
