PDF Writer
For those who may not be familiar with this application, the PDF writer is software that will allow you to create PDF files from your documents. Once you install the PDF software it will show up on your computer as a printer. You may use the writer to generate PDF files by selecting it as the printer for documents that you create.You can install the PDF writer with the steps listed below.

  • Login to the network.
  • Click on Start > Run
  • Enter the command “G:ucaappapplpdfinstall.exe”
  • Click Ok.


Respondus 4.0
Respondus 4.0 is a powerful tool for creating and managing exams that can be printed to paper or published directly to Blackboard. Exams can be created offline using a familiar Windows environment, and uploaded to Blackboard.

Respondus LockDown Browser
Respondus LockDown Browser is a secure browser for taking exams in Blackboard. It prevents you from printing, copying, going to another URL, or accessing other applications during an assessment. If a Blackboard exam requires that Respondus LockDown Browser be used, the exam won’t be accessible with a standard web browser.Respondus LockDown Browser should only be used for taking examinations in Blackboard. It should not be used in other areas of Blackboard.

If using Respondus LockDown Browser with your online testing you need to start Respondus after the Tegrity session has already started to record (this is after you and your photo ID picture has been taken).
When finished with the test, you can then close the Respondus browser window which will then give you access to stop and upload the Tegrity recording from the control panel.
