POLICY
Passwords meant to provide access to UCA systems must have a minimum length of 8 characters. The password must consist of alpha and non-alpha characters.

Passwords will expire every 90 days.

A new password may not be the same as any of the previous six passwords.

COMMENTS

• Alpha characters would include the letters A – Z
• Non alpha-characters would include numbers 0-9 and other non letter characters. In order to maintain compatibility with other systems it would be best not to use the following characters, @ $ & ” ( ) , < > ` ; = #
• While not specified as being required, the current password maximum length is 30 characters
• The current mainframe system is not technically capable of fully performing the standard set by this policy. It will be phased out with the implementation of the Banner system.
