Add A Printer To Windows XP

  • Click on Start > Settings > Printers and Faxes > Add Printer
  • Click on “Next”
  • Select “Network Printer” and click “Next”
  • Select “Browse for Printer” and click “Next.” In the “Shared Printers” field of the Browse for Printer window navigate down the tree. It may not be required to navigate using all these instructions. The end point is what is important.
  • Double-click on “NDPS Printers”, then “NDPS Controlled Access Printer”, then “UCA_TREE”, then “UCA”, and then Double-click on the appropriate context. Examples: “Student” “FS” “SW”
  • Scroll down to find the printer object usually in form of “BuildingRoomP1” Example “Mashburn101P1”
  • Double-click on the “BuildingRoomP1” printer object.
  • Click “Yes” when asked if you want to continue. The printer and drivers will be installed.
  • Select “Yes” to make this the default printer and click “Next”
  • Click on “Finished”
