Changing Your Account Name

If your name changes, you may wish to change your UCA network account name to reflect this. This includes your myUCA username and the username within your UCA-issued email account.

IT may change your account name under the following conditions:

  1. Your name must be legally changed. IT will not change account names or any other reason.
  2. If you are an employee, Human Resources must already have updated your name in the Banner HR system.
  3. If you are a student, the Registrar must already have updated your name in the Banner Student Information System.
  4. You will need to obtain a new UCA ID from the BearCard office reflecting your new name.

Once these steps are complete, you may present your updated UCA ID to the IT Help Desk, who will enter a TDX request to begin the account name change process. Note that this process may take up to two business days to complete. During this time, access to some systems may be disrupted.

You will have 30 days to transfer needed email or files from your old account to your new account. You may log in to your old account using your old username and password. After 30 days, your old account will be deleted and any data in it will be lost. Email addressed to the old account will be returned as undeliverable.
