Bears without Borders 2011 at Florence Mattison Elementary

Bears without Borders is a program for international students at UCA to share their culture with elementary and middle school aged students in Conway. This semester, 5-7 students from UCA will go to Florence Mattison Elementary School on Thursday, October 25 for two afternoon assemblies, one for students in kindergarten through 2nd grade and another for grades 3rd and 4th.

Dates and Times

Monday, Oct. 22 @ 8:00pm

Planning meeting. All participants will come with ideas of how they want to represent their culture to the students of Florence Mattison Elementary School. Depending on the number of participants, each student or country will have about 5 minutes each.

Wednesday, Oct. 24 @ 8:00pm

Final meeting to run through the entire assembly with complete powerpoint presentation.

Thursday, October 25 @ 1pm-3pm

1:00pm                                           UCA participants meet outside the Christian Cafeteria and travel to Florence Mattison

Elementary School.

1:30pm – 2:00pm                         Assembly for kindergarten through 2nd grade (approx. 5 -7 years old)

2:00pm – 2:45pm                         Assembly for 3rd and 4th graders (approx. 8-9 years old)

2:45pm – 3:00pm                         Pictures with students and principle

3:00pm                                           Return to UCA
