Services

The Instructional Development Center provides a central facility to assist faculty in their continued improvement of teaching and learning. Specific services include pedagogical and technical workshops, individual consultations and videotaping.

Consultations

Faculty who wish to analyze their teaching behaviors and implement changes may request assistance. Consultations are personal, voluntary, and confidential. Feedback obtained from classroom visits, videotaping, or student interviews is the property of the individual faculty member and is independent of performance review. Contact Deb Kuster at dkuster@uca.edu to schedule a consultation.

Videotaping

Individual faculty members may make arrangements to be videotaped. Videotaping helps sharpen teaching skills and offers a chance to view one’s teaching from a student’s perspective. Videotapes become the property of the individual faculty member and are independent of performance review. Contact IDC at 450-5240 or e-mail idc@uca.edu to schedule a videotaping.

Technology Services

The IDC provides an instructional technology consultant and an instructional designer to assist faculty one-on-one with questions related to technology use, course design, and other technology-related needs.
