Clinical Instructor I-Family and Consumer Sciences

The University of Central Arkansas (UCA) invites applications for a Visiting Lecturer in the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences. The successful candidate will teach courses in the nutrition/dietetics curriculum and will serve as Director of the Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD). Additionally, candidates will be expected to actively participate in scholarship and provide service to the department, college and university.

Department: The Department of Family and Consumer Sciences mission is to provide quality education for individuals seeking degrees, certification, or support courses in Family and Consumer Sciences and related specialization areas in Nutrition/Dietetics, Interior Design and Family and Consumer Sciences Education. The mission of the DPD/nutrition program at the University of Central Arkansas is to prepare graduates who have the academic preparation necessary for success in a dietetic internship or other career opportunities. This mission is accomplished by providing students with the concepts of the interdependence of human nutrition and food in the health of individuals and with a general foundation of foodservice systems management.

Qualifications: Candidates will hold a minimum of a master’s degree in nutrition or related discipline and hold the credential as a Registered Dietitian with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Preference will be given to candidates with clinical experience in dietetics/nutrition and college teaching experience and earned doctorate in Family and Consumer Sciences or closely related discipline.

Community: Located just 30 minutes away from Little Rock, the capital of Arkansas, Conway is also home to two private colleges, a public school system ranked among the state’s best, and a strong K-12 parochial school.
