Assistant Professor – Department of Health Sciences



Qualifications: Earned doctorate in Health Education/ Health Promotion or related field. Must be CHES certified or eligible. Must have demonstrated effectiveness in residency and online teaching and must demonstrate the effective use of instructional technology. Preference will be given to applicants with a clearly defined research agenda, research publications, and successful acquisition of external grants.

Responsibilities: Teaching a variety of undergraduate and graduate health education courses (including online courses). Undergraduate courses could include Theoretical Basis, Community Health, Drug Education, Human Sexuality and Program Planning. Graduate courses could include Foundations of Health Education, Epidemiology, International Health, Health Concerns for Women and Administrations of Health Programs. Successful candidates will be expected to conduct research and publish in the areas of health education/promotion, guide graduate research in areas of expertise, seek external grants and contracts, provide service to the department, college, University and community as well as actively participate in professional organizations.

Salary: commensurate with experience and background.
