VISITING ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OR LECTURER-DEPARTMENT OF SOCIOLOGY
ARKANSAS, CONWAY 72035. The University of Central Arkansas, Department of Sociology, invites applications for a one-year position in sociology, beginning August 2013. The ideal candidate will be prepared to teach the department’s introductory course, Social Problems, and courses in the candidate’s area of specialization. Candidates with a Ph.D. in sociology will be considered for the rank of visiting assistant professor of sociology; applicants who are ABD will be considered for the rank of visiting lecturer in sociology. The department offers a collegial and supportive work environment. The teaching load is four courses per semester.
Founded in 1907, the University of Central Arkansas is an accredited state institution with an enrollment of approximately 11,000 students and a faculty of more than 400. Conway, a community of over 55,000, has three colleges and universities, and is located thirty miles north of Little Rock, the state capital.
