The University of Central Arkansas Police Department is seeking certified police officers who are interested in a university law enforcement career. University police officers are responsible for protecting life and property, enforcing state and local laws, preventing crime and preserving order. Fringe benefits include health, dental and life insurance benefits, paid vacation, overtime, holidays, and 5.5% shift differential. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma. Must possess valid Arkansas driver's license. Must be certified by the Arkansas Law Enforcement Certification Training in accordance with ACA 12-9-106, or an approved law enforcement training academy. Additional requirements determined by the agency for recruiting purposes require review and approval by the Office of Personnel Management. OTHER JOB RELATED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE MAY BE SUBSTITUTED FOR ALL OR PART OF THESE BASIC REQUIREMENTS, EXCEPT FOR CERTIFICATION OR LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS, UPON APPROVAL OF THE QUALIFICATIONS REVIEW COMMITTEE.
