DIRECTOR OF COUNSELING CENTER
Brief Job Description: The Director reports to the Vice President for Student Services. Duties include the development and implementation of operational policies and procedures; training, supervision, and evaluation of professional and support staff members; budget management; and service on selected university committees and teams, including the university Behavior Intervention Team. The Director also provides direct service through maintaining a client load of 7 -10 clients, facilitating groups, crisis intervention, supervision of graduate trainees, psychoeducational programming, and consultation. Further, the Director serves as one of five Unit Managers on the Vice President for Student Services leadership team. Offices that report to the Unit Manager are Career Services, Student Health Services, and Student Wellness & Development.
Minimum educational/skills/experience requirements: The qualified applicant will hold a doctorate in Counseling Psychology, Clinical Psychology, or Counselor Education. A minimum of five years experience as a staff member in a counseling services setting, preferably at a college or university. Prefer some administrative experience in a counseling setting (e.g., clinical coordinator, case manager, assistant director). Must be licensed or eligible for licensure in state of Arkansas.
