JOB DESCRIPTION: The University of Central Arkansas is looking for a trustworthy individual with a positive attitude to join the Student Accounts team as a cashier. The main responsibility of this position will be collecting and receipting cash and cash-like transactions for the University. The ability to work well with the public, providing excellent customer service in a fast paced environment is essential. Other responsibilities include providing information, assistance and clarification to interested parties, researching and reconciling various accounts, assisting in the coordination of billings, maintaining files and activity logs, and other related responsibilities as required or assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: The formal equivalent of a high school diploma; plus six months of experience in customer service, clerical work, or a related field. Additional requirements determined by the agency for recruiting purposes require review and approval by the Office of Personnel Management. OTHER JOB RELATED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE MAY BE SUBSTITUTED FOR ALL OR PART OF THESE BASIC REQUIREMENTS, EXCEPT FOR CERTIFICATION OR LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS, UPON APPROVAL OF THE QUALIFICATIONS REVIEW COMMITTEE.
Preferred qualifications include proven proficiency in cash handling and reconciliations with good technical abilities. A working knowledge of the SCT Banner administrative software is a plus.
