ASSISTANT SPORTS INFORMATION DIRECTOR-ATHLETIC DEPARTMENT

The Assistant Sports Information Director, reporting to the Assistant Athletic Director for Media Relations, will be in charge of assigned sports, with duties to include in-game statistics, pre-game and post-game releases, website designing/updating, media hosting, student worker assignments, media guide design/layout/editing and game program content, as well as other duties as assigned.

The interested candidate will serve as athletic department’s liaison with the media, the Southland Conference, and the NCAA for his/her assigned sports, to include weekly and yearly awards programs, both locally, regionally and nationally, interviews, media events, tournaments, etc.

The interested candidate should possess outstanding personal skills, to include strong oral and written communication abilities. Experience with Statcrew software for all sports is required. Website experience preferred, as well as experience with live statistics, live streaming and social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, etc.). Must have ability to work well with a wide variety of people, to include media, coaches, fellow SIDs and all others associated with a university campus atmosphere.

The interested candidate will be willing to work extremely flexible hours required in a fast-paced Division I athletics office, to include nights, weekends and holidays. The candidate will also be able to work under deadline pressure and be able to prioritize time to meet multiple assignment deadlines. Some team travel may be involved with the position. Candidate must demonstrate an exemplary work ethic and dedication to the athletic department and its student-athletes.

College degree required in journalism, mass communications or similar. Experience in a collegiate athletics office preferred.

The interested candidate will be a full-time, 12-month employee of the University of Central Arkansas, with full benefits. Salary is commensurate with knowledge and experience.
