ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF PUBLIC RELATIONS-DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNICATIONS
Responsibilities: Teach both lower- and upper-division public relations courses. Serve on department, college, and university committees; conduct professional and scholarly activity related to area of specialization; participate in department governance and academic advising.
Required Qualifications: The successful candidate should hold a Ph.D. in public relations or a related communication specialty; ABD will be considered if the degree will be completed by the time of appointment. The candidate should have professional public relations experience. Expertise in teaching public relations writing and in developing public relations courses is preferred.
Employment Conditions: Nine-month tenure-track position, to start August 2013.

The Department and the Program: The Department of Communication in the College of Fine Arts and Communication offers BA and BS degrees in Communication and Public Relations. The Department has over 150 majors and minors. The Public Relations major is intradisciplinary, drawing from courses in communication and mass communication as well as public relations.
