ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF BUSINESS LAW-DEPARTMENT OF ACCOUNTING
POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT: The Department of Accounting at the University of Central Arkansas invites applications for a nine-month tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level to teach Business Law beginning August 1 ,2014. The successful candidate will be expected to teach courses at the undergraduate and graduate level.
QUALIFICATIONS: The minimum educational requirement for the position is a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA accredited law school. Applicants should have relevant teaching experience in business. Demonstration of research ability as well as professional service is expected. Evidence and/or willingness to teach on-line are also desired. Salary is commensurate with qualifications. The application deadline is November 15, 2013.
DEPARTMENT: The Department of Accounting has ten full-time faculty. The Department of Accounting has over 250 undergraduate majors as well as a Masters of Accountancy program.
COLLEGE: The College of Business occupies a recently constructed 70,000 square foot state-of-the-art building which houses four academic departments: (1) Accounting; (2) Economics, Finance, Insurance, and Risk Management; (3) Marketing and Management; and (4) Management Information Systems. The College offers twelve undergraduate degree programs and two programs at the master's level (MAcc and MBA), with typical enrollment in the college averaging approximately 1,200 undergraduates and 75 graduate students. In addition, the College has recognized centers focusing on Small Business and Entrepreneurship, Logistics and Supply Chain Management, and Insurance and Risk Management. The College is accredited by AACSB.
UNIVERSITY: UCA is comprised of six colleges and has an enrollment of approximately 11,500 students. UCA is located in beautiful Conway, Arkansas, a progressive, rapidly growing community of nearly 60,000 just 30 miles from the state capital of Little Rock. Conway is home to UCA and two private colleges and was ranked as one of the top 25 places in the United States in "Where the jobs are" by CNNMoney.
