ASSISTANT/ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR-COMMUNICATION SCIENCES AND DISORDERS
Salary: Competitive and commensurate with qualifications.
Available: Preferred start date is August, 2013. Nine month, tenure-track position.
Qualifications: Qualifications: PhD in audiology or hearing science; teaching and supervisory experience desirable; CCC-A and eligibility for Arkansas licensure.
Responsibilities: Responsibilities in this speech-pathology only department include undergraduate and graduate teaching and scholarship in areas of expertise; supervision of master’s students; and oversight and management of audiological services including some direct service provision. UCA Communication Sciences and Disorders is in the College of Health and Behavioral Sciences, is CAA accredited and offers a doctoral degree through a consortium in Communication Sciences and Disorders with the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and the University of Arkansas Little Rock.
The University: UCA is a comprehensive regional university with 11,000 students and high academic standards. The campus is noted for its beauty and is conveniently located in Conway, a rapidly growing city of 60,000, thirty minutes from Little Rock and the Ozark Mountains, and home to two private colleges, a public school system ranked among the state’s best, and a strong K-12 parochial school. Real estate in this dynamic “City of Colleges” is moderately priced and taxes are low.
